Manager of Accounting

Camarillo, CA

The Manager of Accounting will supervise and provide direction for all general accounting functions at our foreign and domestic subsidiaries, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and intercompany transactions. The Manager of Accounting will ensure that all global period end closes are completed in a timely and accurate manner while maintaining accounting and business records in compliance with local GAAP, internal accounting controls, and company policies. The Manager of Accounting will also prepare and submit accounting records and filings in adherence with local, state, and federal government requirements.

The Day-to-Day

  • Oversee general accounting function of the company, which includes inter-, and intra-company accounting, bank account reconciliations, cash management, intercompany reconciliations, accruals, balance sheet management, fixed assets schedules, etc.
  • Continuously improve internal controls, ensure that appropriate accounting standards and policies are in place and accounting procedures are followed across the organization
  • Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including A/R Aging and collections
  • Manage and perform Intercompany billing between foreign subsidiaries and USA headquarters
  • Collaborate with other departments, ensure accurate data uploads to the accounting software
  • Perform month-end and annual closing process, research accounting discrepancies, prepare closing journal entries, and post accrual entries
  • Support the creation of period-end financial reports
  • Oversee the preparation and periodic filings of Sales Tax and VAT returns
  • Manage relationships with 3rd party foreign Accounting firms
  • Assist in the annual consolidated financial audit
  • Complete Federal and State tax reporting requirements (including property, sales tax, VAT, payroll and other local taxes), insurance reports and other reports required by governments
  • Ensure that the accounting department is staffed with qualified financial personnel capable of meeting objectives and responsibilities
  • Continuously train and develop staff members
  • Other projects assigned by the Director of Finance

What You Bring

  • CPA or Master’s in Accounting degree is required
  • Minimum two years of experience in manager role, and at least five years of hands on work experience performing the full scope of accounting work for a business (international experience is a plus)
  • Experience in process improvement and change management in a multi-cultural environment
  • Extensive knowledge of current Accounting regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and intermediate experience with other MS Office products
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently, work collaboratively across departments
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and high-level problem-solving skills

  • Experience using Sage Intacct accounting software
  • Foreign language skills

Travel

Less than 10%, attend occasional meetings or conferences or visit other Company offices. 

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit for long periods, type, use office equipment, and talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.  Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds to move files or other boxes of information.
