ESPRIT for Profit is a new, special edition of the popular software that works for tools which require specific toolpaths generated only with CAM systems.
Montpellier, France (16 September 2020)—Thomas Edison is quoted as saying, “There’s a way to do it better—find it.” This is the continuous challenge in which ESPRIT for Profit was born. Tool manufacturers offer innovative tools with high potential to save time and money and to machine difficult parts and materials. Those tools could be valuable for machine shops. Unfortunately, it isn’t always easy to unlock their full potential.
“ESPRIT for Profit enables production to easily access all the benefits of these innovative tools,” says Luca Ruggiero, Sales Director for EMEA at DP Technology, the parent company of ESPRIT. Offered via yearly subscription, ESPRIT for Profit doesn’t require users to purchase a full CAM system or an extra add-on. ESPRIT for Profit offers the high-speed machining cycle in combination with the standard digital machine package for an unbeatable price.
Toolpath of a ProfitMilling® cycle
ESPRIT for Profit is available for milling with ESPRIT’s ProfitMilling® cycle or for turning with high-speed cycle ProfitTurning®. The ProfitMilling cycle offers dramatic improvements in cycle time, boasting a reduction of up to 75% compared to traditional milling strategies. It can also extend tool life by up to 500% thanks to a patented method of cycle optimization that produces consistent chip loads and reduced cutting forces. The optimized, high-speed toolpath patterns reduce the need for rapid machine accelerations and abrupt changes in direction, which would otherwise negatively affect chip loads and increase cutting forces. A chip thinning technique cuts at full axial depth and reduced radial width, allowing significantly higher feed rates. To maintain the programmed chip load throughout the cut, the ProfitMilling cycle dynamically adapts the actual feed rate to account for geometry and toolpath variances. Offset, spiraling, and trochoidal motions reduce the need for rapid machine acceleration/deceleration, increasing the overall velocity; therefore, the programmed feedrate is easier for the CNC to attain and overall removal rates are maximized.
Toolpath of a ProfitTurning® cycle
ESPRIT’s ProfitTurning cutting strategy features a toolpath that maintains consistent chip load and cutting forces, allowing for significantly increased cutting speeds. By employing controlled engagement techniques, the ProfitTurning toolpath also reduces vibration and residual stresses, making it particularly useful for thin walls or hard materials such as superalloys. This innovative cutting strategy results in significantly reduced machine cycle time and cost per part, allowing for increased productivity. ProfitTurning is the ultimate turning solution with a 25% reduction in cycle time and a 300% increase in tool life compared to traditional strategies.
“There are many very efficient tools on the market. To use them at full power you need to program them with specific tool path that just a CAM system can do,” says Mr. Ruggiero. “ESPRIT for Profit is the solution for manufacturers to unlock the full potential of their tools at an amazing price.”
