Employee Spotlight: Sam Kaminski, Application Engineer Team Leader

Sam Kaminski has been a proud member of the DP team since 2017, and his background makes him uniquely qualified to handle some of our customers’ biggest challenges.
After earning his mechanical engineering degree from Cleveland’s Case Western Reserve University in 2014, Sam entered the workforce at a large valve and fitting company—first as a nuclear applications engineer and later as a custom solution engineer. The latter role brought him to California, where he joined DP.
As an application engineer team leader at DP, Sam works with customers, resellers, machine manufacturers, and other DP employees to develop the best solutions for customers. On a micro level, this means working alongside customers to tackle specific issues, building machine setups, writing post processors, and communicating with the R&D team regarding potential issues and enhancements to the software. He also assists in the development of new AEs.

Sam’s favorite work memories are ones that allowed him to get out of the office and learn more about the manufacturing industry—namely, attending his first World conference in 2017 and speaking at IMTS in 2018. Regular collaboration with his coworkers and the variety of job duties keep him interested in his work.
Since July of 2019, this native Ohioan’s free time belongs to his young son. But he also enjoys watching basketball, working out, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
